Baku: Azerbaijan's women's volleyball team opened their European Championship campaign with a 3-1 victory over Portugal in Baku.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the national team will continue its group stage performance on August 23, taking on the Spanish national team at the National Gymnastics Arena. Group C features intense competition among six nations: Azerbaijan, Portugal, the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, and Romania. The group stage matches in Baku will run through August 28.
