Baku: A series of events were held on the occasion of the 106th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Border Guard, the Press Center of the State Border Service told APA. Azerbaijan Border Guard marks this milestone as an organization capable of professionally protecting the land and water borders of the nation, having developed under the leadership of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the anniversary was celebrated with events in the structural and military units of the State Border Service. The celebrations commenced with the playing of the State Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan at the Border Guard Cultural Center, where Colonel General Elchin Guliyev, Chief of the State Border Service, delivered a congratulatory speech to the personnel.

During the event, presidential decrees by Ilham Aliyev dated August 16, 2025, were announced, and senior military ranks were presented to officers. Additionally, military servicemen distinguished in their service and combat activities received orders and medals. Following the formal proceedings, attendees watched the film '106 Years of the Border', which showcases the service and combat activities of the State Border Guard of Azerbaijan.
