Baku: The Indian government's policy of violence and discrimination against religious and ethnic minorities should be properly communicated to the international community and responded to accordingly, said Abbas Abbasov, Executive Director of the Baku Initiative Group (BIG), at the international conference held in Baku on 'Racism and Violence Against Sikhs and Other National Minorities in India: The Reality on the Ground,' APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Abbas Abbasov highlighted that the conference was attended by prominent representatives of the Sikh community in Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States, as well as heads of international think tanks and scholars from foreign universities focusing on human rights and ethnic minorities. He emphasized that this conference marked the Group's first event aimed at addressing the impacts of discriminatory policies against ethnic minorities.

He stated that the conference served as a platform for individuals who are direct victims of the Indian government's repressive, racist, and persecutory policies to have their voices heard on an international level. Abbas Abbasov committed to bringing this issue to the attention of the United Nations and other relevant international organizations.
