Farhad Statue Set to Be Erected in Aghdam’s Central Park Next Year

Aghdam: Work continues on the ‘Farhad Statue’ to be placed in the central park of Aghdam city. This project, prepared based on the original sketch by People’s Artist Tokay Mammadov, will immortalize one of the symbols of the city, according to Leyla Sarabi, the press secretary of the Restoration, Construction, and Management Service in the districts of Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavend.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the restoration of the artwork is being carried out by People’s Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Huseyn Hagverdiyev. The execution of the technical parameters of the statue is under the authority of Sanan Jafarov. The project’s chief curator is Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Doctor of Sciences Rashad Mehdiyev. The statue is planned to be erected next year.

The construction process of the Farhad statue, which will be erected in the central park of Aghdam city, has been reviewed, as reported by the Press Service of the Special Representative Office of the President of Azerbaijan in Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavand districts. Emin Huseynov, the Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan for these districts, became acquainted with the process of creating the “Farhad Statue.”

It should be noted that the “Farhad Statue,” created by People’s Artist Tokay Mammadov, was considered one of the symbols of Aghdam before the occupation. During the occupation period, it was subjected to vandalism.
