Baku:A tragic road accident occurred in the Garadagh settlement of Baku's Garadagh district, resulting in the deaths of four individuals and one survivor. The Ministry of Emergency Situations was alerted via its '112' hotline about citizens trapped inside a vehicle following the accident.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, rescuers from the Special Risky Rescue Service were promptly dispatched to the scene. They found that a Mercedes Atego truck had collided with metal barriers. The use of special rescue equipment was necessary to extricate the trapped individuals from the deformed vehicle. Four bodies were recovered, and one person was rescued alive and handed over to the authorities.
Further details from the Main State Traffic Police Department revealed that the accident took place at approximately 14:20 at the 21st kilometer of the Baku-Gazakh highway. The truck, with registration plate 88-BG-741, overturned after the driver lost control. Three people died, and two were injured in the incident. An investigation is currently underway.
The Main State Traffic Police Department has issued a reminder to drivers to maintain attentiveness on the roads, adhere to speed limits, and maintain safe following distances. They also emphasized the importance of checking the technical condition of vehicles and avoiding driving while fatigued or sleep-deprived.
