Importantly, Birol pointed out that this is a resource abundantly available to every nation.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Birol highlighted the significance of commitments made in Montreal, which showcase a strong international determination to prioritize energy efficiency in energy policy. This commitment aims to accelerate advancements towards a more secure, resilient, and sustainable global energy framework. Drawing parallels with the oil crises of the 1970s, Birol expressed that the current energy crisis could serve as a catalyst for expedited action on energy efficiency.
