Zurich: FIFA has abandoned plans to sell its stake in the World Cup to private investors. The International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) had considered the idea, proposed by its president, Gianni Infantino, to sell a share of the World Cup rights. However, this plan has now been shelved.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the decision was made in response to harsh criticism from football officials and internal divisions within FIFA. It has been observed that the International Football Federation misjudged the sentiment in Europe, where national teams and clubs contribute significantly to football's revenue.

"They're not happy about this. They absolutely don't want to continue to be involved in this mess," a source was quoted as saying by the publication. This reflects the widespread discontent and reluctance among stakeholders to proceed with the proposed sale.
