Baku: UK Ambassador to Azerbaijan Duncan Norman has extended his congratulations to the Azerbaijani people on the occasion of Azerbaijani Language Day, celebrated on August 1, APA reports. The ambassador expressed his sentiments through a heartfelt video message shared on his social media platform X.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Ambassador Norman highlighted the significance of the Azerbaijani language, describing it as a "precious heritage" that embodies the rich history, culture, and national identity of the Azerbaijani people. He emphasized his confidence that the Azerbaijani language and literature would continue to inspire future generations.

In his video message, the ambassador also paid tribute to Azerbaijani literary heritage by reciting lines from "Mother Tongue," a renowned poem by People's Poet Bakhtiyar Vahabzada. This gesture underscored the deep cultural connection and shared appreciation for the Azerbaijani language.
