Baku: Fines for the illegal removal of national cultural heritage sites, which are classified as national heritage objects included in the cultural property protection list, from the territory of Azerbaijan have been doubled.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this change is reflected in amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses. The implementation of these amendments was enacted by a decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev. The measure aims to strengthen the protection of Azerbaijan's cultural heritage by imposing more substantial penalties on those attempting to export such items illegally.
