Baku: The First Azerbaijan-UK Policy Dialogue has been hailed as a crucial step in enhancing bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom. Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, bp’s vice president for the Caspian region, highlighted the significance of the event during its opening ceremony, emphasizing its role as a platform for strengthening and deepening mutual cooperation.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Aslanbayli noted the historical ties between the two nations, pointing out that BP established its first office in Baku shortly after Azerbaijan declared its independence. This move, he said, underscores the long-standing relationship between Azerbaijan and the UK.

Aslanbayli expressed enthusiasm for continuing cooperation in various fields, including trade and engineering. He mentioned that these collaborations will not only progress through existing projects but also through new initiatives, especially in renewable and green energy. Furthermore, he expressed satisfaction with the growing interest among Azerbaijani youth in pursuing higher education at British universities, viewing it as a positive development in the cultural and educational exchange between the two countries.
