Baku: Anglo Asian Mining (AAM), a company specializing in the extraction of gold, copper, and silver in Azerbaijan, has announced the initiation of copper concentrate sales from its newly operational Damirli mine. This development marks a significant milestone for the company, as shared with APA-Economics.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the sales contract was finalized with Trafigura Pte Ltd on November 3, 2025. As part of this agreement, 2,055 tons of copper concentrate containing 351 tons of copper were delivered to Trafigura between November 17 and 30. The preliminary sales revenue from this transaction is reported to be 3.6 million US dollars. It is noted that the Azerbaijani government’s share of this revenue has not been accounted for in the reported figure.
In a related update, Anglo Asian Mining has confirmed record production levels at the Damirli mine during November. The mine successfully extracted a total of 1.95 million tons of material, which included 195 thousand tons of high-quality ore, 269 thousand tons of oxide ore, and the remainder being rock material utilized for warehouse reinforcement. Notably, on November 27, the company achieved its highest daily extraction rate, recording the excavation of 81 thousand tons of rock in a single day.
The company began the development of six fields under the Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) signed on August 21, 1997. Under this agreement, Azerbaijan holds a 51% stake, while Anglo Asian Mining PLC has a 49% share. Presently, AAM operates in eight contract areas across Azerbaijan. Listed on the London Stock Exchange, Anglo Asian Mining is recognized as one of Azerbaijan’s leading non-oil industrial exporters.
