The first of the three designed reservoirs to provide the city of Shusha with sustainable drinking water will be ready for commissioning by the end of this year. This is reported by JSC "Azersu". Note that the project of reconstruction of water supply, sewerage and rainwater systems of the city of Shusha is being implemented by the State Agency of Water Resources of Azerbaijan, taking into account the residence of 25.000 people in the city in the future. According to the project, the city's need for drinking water will be provided by the existing sources of Kichik Kirs, Zarysly and the Zarislichay reservoir commissioned in 2022. To collect and optimally distribute the water taken from these sources, as well as to ensure stability in the city's water supply, 3 reservoirs with a total volume of 6000 m3 have been designed. Main operations for the construction of the first of them have been completed, and input and output lines installed. Insulation operations and construction of auxiliary buildings are currently ongoing. According to the project, 24 km of main water pipeline, 44 km of drinking water, 42 km of sewage and 41 km of rain network will be laid in the city of Shusha. A drinking water treatment plant with a capacity of 8000 m3 per day will be built. It is also planned to build treatment facilities of the same capacity for complete purification and neutralization of wastewater generated in the city. The water infrastructure of the city of Shusha will be regulated online through SCADA systems. According to "Azersu", a reservoir with a capacity of 25,000 cubic meters, a pumping station and a new pressure pipeline with a length of 2.9 km have been built in the bed of the Zaryslychay, and water supply to the city from a new source has been established since December 2022. In the future, the Zaryslychay reservoir will be expanded and its capacity will be raised to 7.5 million cubic meters
