BAKU: The First Vice-President of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva, has extended her congratulations to the Azerbaijani people following the successful liberation of several villages and the city of Gubadly from Armenian occupation. This marked a significant milestone in the 44-day second Karabakh war, which saw the Azerbaijani Army launch a counter-offensive operation called “Iron Fist” on September 27, 2020, in response to provocations by Armenian forces.
According to Trend News Agency, the military operation led to the restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity after nearly three decades of Armenian occupation. In a post on her official Instagram page, Aliyeva expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the nation, celebrating the courage and resilience of the Azerbaijani soldiers. She emphasized that each victory was achieved through the heroism and bravery of the armed forces, and she expressed her gratitude to them. Aliyeva’s message also included a blessing for the army, the people, the country, and
the President, affirming the national sentiment that “Karabakh is Azerbaijan.”
