Foreign Diplomats Explore Historical and Modern Development in Shusha City

Shusha: Representatives of the diplomatic corps visiting Karabakh have familiarized themselves with the historical sites of Shusha, APA's correspondent dispatched to Karabakh reports. The delegation had the opportunity to observe both the rich historical context and the ongoing modern developments in the city. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, one of the key highlights of the visit was the construction site of a new mosque in Shusha. The guests received detailed insights about the mosque, which is set to become a new emblem for the city. Laid in 2021 by the country's head of state, the mosque's design carries significant symbolic meanings. The architectural design of the mosque is intended to reflect the number 8, symbolizing Victory Day, marking the liberation of Shusha from occupation. Furthermore, the two minarets of the mosque will embody the number 11, representing the liberation of Shusha and Karabakh in the eleventh month of the year. Standing at 72 meters high, these minarets will be a prominen t feature in the upper part of Shusha. The exterior of the mosque will be adorned with geometric patterns reminiscent of those found in the minarets of Shusha's ancient mosque, blending modern architectural elements with the city's historical legacy. The construction is expected to be completed by next year, marking a significant milestone in the city's reconstruction and cultural revival efforts.
