Foreign Ministry: Azerbaijan Does Not Recognize Independence of Taiwan

Baku: Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reaffirmed its commitment to the one-China policy, stating that it does not recognize Taiwan's independence. The announcement was made by Aykhan Hajizada, the Spokesperson for Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to a media inquiry about the ongoing situation surrounding Taiwan.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Hajizada emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the region as a crucial factor for international security. He stated, "The position of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the one-China policy is irreversible, clear, and consistent. Our country does not recognize the independence of Taiwan."

Furthermore, Hajizada expressed Azerbaijan's support for resolving disputes peacefully within the framework of international law, underscoring principles such as sovereignty and territorial integrity.
