Gabala: The foundation stone for a mosque to be constructed in Fuzuli by Turkmenistan was ceremonially laid online during the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Gabala. The event was attended by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and other heads of state and government.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the mosque complex in Fuzuli will occupy an area of over one hectare and will feature two 40-meter-high minarets along with a main dome reaching 30 meters in height. The facility will have the capacity to accommodate up to 500 worshippers simultaneously.

As part of the restoration efforts in Karabakh and East Zangezur by the Azerbaijani state, member and observer states of the OTS are contributing to various projects. Apart from the mosque in Fuzuli by Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan has built the Mirzo Ulugbek School, Kazakhstan has constructed the Kurmangazy Children’s Creativity Center, Kyrgyzstan has built the Manas School in Aghdam, Hungary is constructing a school building in Jabrayil, and Turkish companies are involved in building tunnels, bridges, and roads.

The foundation-laying ceremony, marking the mosque as a gift from Turkmenistan, was held in Fuzuli, as reported by APA’s correspondent from Gabala. The ceremony was attended online by participants of the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the OTS.

President Ilham Aliyev conveyed his gratitude to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the people of Turkmenistan. Following the recitation of prayers, the foundation of the mosque was laid with the online participation of the heads of state.

“Fuzuli Mosque, the foundation of which is laid today, is a gift from our Turkmen brothers,” stated President Ilham Aliyev during his address at the summit. He also expressed appreciation to the fraternal countries for their support in the restoration of Garabagh and Eastern Zangazur.
