Gabala: President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan has proposed the grand celebration of the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress next year, suggesting it be organized under the auspices of the Organization of Turkic States. This announcement was made during his speech at the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States, as reported by APA’s correspondent present in Gabala.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev highlighted the unity that stems from shared history, ethnic roots, and languages among the Turkic nations, describing them as a singular family. He underscored the historical importance of the First Turkological Congress, which was originally convened in Baku in 1926, and emphasized its relevance to the common cultural heritage of the Turkic-speaking world.

In concluding his address, President Aliyev expressed heartfelt gratitude to the fellow Turkic nations for their unwavering support in the reconstruction efforts in Garabagh and Eastern Zangazur. He assured that the Azerbaijani people would always cherish this fraternal assistance.
