PARIS: Famous political activist Kemi Seba, known for his opposition to France’s colonial policies and his fight for the rights of African peoples, has been detained by police in Paris, according to Trend News Agency.

According to Trend News Agency, he was detained yesterday afternoon while having lunch at a restaurant. Seba participated in an international conference organized by the Baku Initiative Group, focusing on French neocolonialism in Africa, on October 3. He is recognized as one of the symbolic leaders of the Movement for African Independence, sovereignty, and the fight against neocolonial forces, and is also one of the main critics of French neocolonialism. Born in 1981 in Strasbourg, he has been blacklisted by the French government due to his outspoken and sharp criticism of the damage caused by France’s colonial policies to African countries and overseas territories still enslaved by it.
