Baku: An award ceremony was held to recognize the efforts of 26 young artists who participated in the "Colors of Garabagh: From Tragedy to Triumph" project, an initiative organized by the Garabagh Revival Fund (GRF) with support from the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Academy of Fine Arts (ASAFA).

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the project aimed to shift its focus from past destruction to the present and future of Garabagh, showcasing its revival, restoration, and rich cultural heritage. The young artists produced 29 artworks, including 24 paintings and 5 sculptures, highlighting these themes.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of notable figures such as Rahman Hajiyev, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Garabagh Revival Fund; Natig Aliyev, People's Artist and Rector of ASAFA; Salhab Mammadov, People's Artist and Vice-Rector for International Relations at ASAFA; and Fuad Salayev, People's Artist and Vice-Rector for Science and Creative Affairs at ASAFA. Rahman Hajiyev emphasized the project's importance in fostering creativity among young artists and its role in preserving Azerbaijan's historical memory through art.

Hajiyev highlighted the inspiration drawn from the large-scale restoration efforts in the liberated territories under President Ilham Aliyev's leadership. He noted that these young artists contributed to the historic mission of restoring Garabagh through their participation in the project. Hajiyev also expressed hope for the project's expansion internationally and thanked ASAFA's leadership and the young artists for their significant contributions.

Natig Aliyev praised the project's role in promoting patriotism and nurturing young artists' creative potential. He expressed satisfaction with the collaboration between the Garabagh Revival Fund and ASAFA and acknowledged the students' artistic interpretation of this historical subject.

Vice-Rectors Salhab Mammadov and Fuad Salayev also addressed the participants, emphasizing the project's artistic significance. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of special certificates and scholarships to the artists by the Garabagh Revival Fund and PASHA Capital Investment Company.

The "Colors of Garabagh" project, first launched in 2024, involved 23 young artists creating 23 artworks, with proceeds from sales supporting Garabagh's restoration. The 2026 artworks will also be auctioned, with proceeds benefiting the Garabagh Revival Fund.
