Samarkand: A delegation from Azerbaijan, led by Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO), attended the First International Islamic Forum, themed 'Islamic Civilization: The Path of Peace, Tolerance and Enlightenment,' at the Imam Bukhari Memorial Complex in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Prior to the forum, the participants toured the complex.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade emphasized the brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, as well as between the leaders of the two countries during his address at the event. He stressed the importance of joint efforts to preserve Islamic civilization and commended Uzbekistan's initiatives to maintain its religious and cultural heritage while advancing Islamic studies.
The CMO Chairman highlighted the importance of cooperation among the religious leaders of the Turkic states. He announced that Baku will host the next meeting of the Council of Heads of Muslim Religious Boards of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in September this year. Furthermore, he mentioned ongoing preparations for an international conference dedicated to the legacy of the prominent Islamic scholar Seyyid Yahya Bakuvi.
In his remarks, Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade also praised efforts to promote the legacy of renowned Islamic scholars, including Imam Bukhari, Imam Tirmidhi, and Imam Maturidi.
