Baku: In January-September of this year, 29,825 million cubic meters of gas were transported through main gas pipelines in Azerbaijan, an increase of 0.9% compared to the corresponding indicator of the previous year.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, 57.5% of this gas transportation was carried out through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum South Caucasus pipeline. This pipeline exports gas produced in the “Shah Deniz” gas-condensate field. During the reporting period, 17,135.6 million cubic meters of gas were transported through this pipeline, marking an increase of 1.98%.

Last year, 40,348.3 million cubic meters of gas were transported through the main gas pipelines in Azerbaijan, which was an increase of 2.7% compared to the previous year. Of this amount, 56.6% of gas transportation was carried out via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum South Caucasus pipeline. During that period, 22,851.9 million cubic meters of gas were transported, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 4.3%.
