Gas Transportation Via Main Pipelines Sees Over 2% Growth in Azerbaijan

Baku: In the first seven months of this year, Azerbaijan saw a 2.4% increase in gas transportation via its main gas pipelines, totaling 23,989.9 million cubic meters, as reported by the State Statistical Committee to APA-Economics. This growth marks a significant uptick in the country's gas transportation sector compared to the previous year.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum South Caucasus Pipeline played a crucial role in this surge, facilitating 55.8% of the total gas transportation. During the reporting period, this pipeline alone transported 13,385.1 million cubic meters of gas, reflecting a 1.3% year-on-year increase.

Last year, Azerbaijan transported 40,235.6 million cubic meters of gas through its main pipelines, which was a slight decrease of 0.3% from the year prior. Within that period, the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum South Caucasus Pipeline was responsible for 57.5% of the gas transportation, moving 23,143.9 million cubic meters of gas and also experiencing a 1.3% increase.
