Baku: The operations at Baku Port are being impacted by the current geoeconomic situation and ongoing clashes, as reported by Baku Port Director General Eldar Salahov. He shared these insights with journalists, highlighting the challenges faced by the port amid these circumstances.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, Eldar Salahov noted that the port is anticipating additional unforeseen cargo volumes. In response, Baku Port is actively implementing measures to handle these extra loads, along with the overall increase in cargo traffic along the Middle Corridor.
The Director General also outlined ongoing efforts to procure new cargo-handling equipment, including road-rail vehicles, crane equipment, and container handlers. Salahov stressed that the focus is not solely on enhancing technical capabilities. Significant efforts are underway to boost operational efficiency, coordination, and information exchange, ensuring Baku Port is prepared to manage the additional cargo volumes.
