Georgia Restricts NGOs’ Participation in Decision-Making Processes

Tbilisi: In Georgia, regulations requiring the mandatory participation of non-governmental organizations in the process of public decision-making will be completely removed from all laws and regulations, the executive secretary of Georgia’s ruling Georgian Dream party, Mamuka Mdinaradze, stated.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Mdinaradze also announced that civil servants will be prohibited from receiving any privileges from foreign sources without the approval of the head of the relevant agency. This marks a significant change in how foreign influence is managed within the country’s governance structure.

Additionally, Mdinaradze highlighted that migration legislation will undergo tightening. This move is seen as part of a broader effort to reinforce national policies and control over internal affairs, aligning with the government’s objectives to regulate foreign interactions and ensure stricter governance.
