Tbilisi: ‘Georgia is implementing significant infrastructure projects across all modes of transport, improving both intra-regional and inter-regional connectivity,’ Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvriashvili, said in an interview with the UAE’s Gulf News, APA’s local bureau reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, these projects include the Anaklia deep-sea port, a new airport in Tbilisi, the East-West highway, railway modernization, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line, and the development of modern logistics centers.
The minister also spoke about the importance of the Black Sea underwater electricity cable. She noted that this project will increase transit opportunities between the European Union (EU) and the South Caucasus region and strengthen Georgia’s role in diversifying the EU’s energy balance.
