Baku: Germany has supported Azerbaijan’s role as chair of the COP29 climate conference from the outset, according to German Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ralf Horlemann, who made the statement during an event marking German Unity Day.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Ambassador Horlemann emphasized that Germany views Azerbaijan’s leadership of COP29 as an opportunity to advance global environmental goals and promote the green energy transition. He noted that Germany is actively engaged in supporting green energy and the green economy.

Horlemann also highlighted the connection between COP29 and the ongoing peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, stating that the two countries are closer to peace than ever before. He added that Germany remains committed to supporting the peace efforts in the South Caucasus region.
