Minsk: During an official visit to Minsk, Azerbaijan’s Prime Minister Ali Asadov and Belarus’s Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko held discussions on strengthening bilateral ties and signed agreements concerning various projects in Azerbaijan’s Aghdam district.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the two leaders discussed the dynamic development of the Azerbaijan-Belarus partnership across various sectors, with a particular focus on economic and trade cooperation. Trade volume between the two countries increased by 39% in the first eight months of the year, and both sides expressed optimism that this growth would continue.
The Prime Ministers emphasized the significance of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko’s state visit to Azerbaijan in May 2024, which resulted in agreements in areas such as industrial cooperation, agricultural development, and vocational education. Special attention was given to projects involving agro-towns in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories, and cooperation between the Ganja Automobile Plant and leading Belarusian machinery enterprises.
The meeting also resulted in the signing of several documents related to agricultural development, healthcare cooperation, and the construction of an agro-town in Aghdam’s Gizil Kangarli village.
