Baku: As part of Azerbaijan's Great Return program, 40 families, totaling 196 individuals, were resettled in Horovlu village of Jabrayil district and received keys to their newly restored homes. The initiative marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to rehabilitate areas affected by past conflicts and provide displaced citizens with the opportunity to return to their hometowns.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the key handover ceremony was attended by officials from the Special Representative Office of the President of Azerbaijan in the Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan districts. Representatives from the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) were also present, underscoring the importance of collaboration among various governmental bodies to ensure the success of the resettlement process.
The Great Return program is aimed at facilitating the voluntary return of displaced families to their native lands, thereby contributing to the socio-economic revitalization of these regions. The program encompasses the reconstruction of infrastructure, including housing, schools, and roads, to support the sustainable development of resettled communities.
