Baku: A presentation of books about the Khojaly tragedy has been held in The Hague, Netherlands, APA reports. The event featured the books ‘They Will Never Grow Up’ (Ze werden nooit volwassen) and ‘The One Coming from Khojaly’ (Geesten uit Khojaly) by Sariyya Muslum. Muslum, a Khojaly resident and journalist, lost family members in the tragedy and has now shared her experiences through these works, which have been translated into Dutch by writer Henri van Rens.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the books describe the moment of death of women and children in Khojaly and were met with significant interest from the participants at the presentation. In her speech, Sariyya Muslum, who recently returned to Khojaly after 32 years, called on the Netherlands, known for its strong judicial system, to ensure a fair resolution of the Khojaly genocide and seek accountability for those responsible for the massacre.

The author also spoke about the revival of life in Khojaly, which she had longed to see for many years, and expressed her desire to prevent similar suffering from occurring in the future. As part of the event, a commemoration ceremony took place in the Kingdom of the Netherlands to mark the 33rd anniversary of the Khojaly Genocide. Attendees visited a monument dedicated to the victims of the tragedy in The Hague.

The memory of the Khojaly victims and the heroes who became martyrs for their homeland was honored with a one-minute silence, offering a moment of reflection and remembrance for those who lost their lives.
