Haydar Aliyev International Airport Achieves Record Passenger Numbers

Baku: In August 2025, Haydar Aliyev International Airport achieved a record by serving nearly 840,000 passengers, the airport told APA-Economics. This figure marks the highest number recorded in August across all years, with a total of 8,238 flights operated during this period.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the most preferred destinations for passengers traveling during the summer season included Istanbul, Antalya, Izmir, Dubai, and Tbilisi. Of the 38 international airlines serving these routes, Turkish Airlines, AJet, Fly Dubai, Air Arabia, and Wizz Air were noted for their high passenger flow.

An increase was also observed in the number of transit passengers, with 42,053 individuals transiting through Haydar Aliyev International Airport in August. This represents a 12.1% increase compared to the same period last year. Additionally, the national air carrier AZAL saw a 2% rise in passengers on the Baku-Nakhchivan-Baku route, reaching 79,120 people, while the number of flights in this direction increased to 372 during the month.
