Health Minister Emphasizes Need for Fair and Unbiased Use of Artificial Intelligence


Baku: “Artificial intelligence should be integrated into legislation, and the principle of fair use must be followed,” Minister of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan Teymur Musayev stated during his speech at the “Global Health Crisis: New Frontiers in Preparedness and Equity” panel within the framework of the XII Global Baku Forum, APA reports.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Minister Musayev highlighted the serious consequences faced by global health in recent years, including pandemics, climate issues, and interventions in healthcare. He noted that the world is at a critical juncture in history, emphasizing the importance of adopting the zero-emission principle, constructing ‘green hospitals,’ and training climate-resilient healthcare workers. The minister reiterated the necessity of integrating artificial intelligence into legislation while ensuring its fair use.



The minister further elaborated on the future of the healthcare system, emphasizing the importance of programming and the role of artificial intelligence in addressing the shortage of professional staff in the healthcare field. He pointed out that artificial intelligence could be utilized to monitor and provide recommendations on people’s health, underscoring the need to ensure its fair and unbiased application. Minister Musayev reflected on past crises and the significant breakthroughs achieved, expressing optimism for the advancements in healthcare through the responsible use of technology.
