Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center Project Announced for Tbilisi

Tbilisi: A Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev will be built in Tbilisi, APA's local bureau reports. The project has been deemed a necessary public need, and the Georgian government, under the order of Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili, has authorized the relevant company to seize the real estate of five individuals to facilitate the project's implementation.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Tbilisi State Azerbaijani Drama Theater named after Heydar Aliyev has been operational in Georgia for many years. However, the current facility on Gorgasali Street is deemed inadequate for its activities. As a result, the political leadership of both Azerbaijan and Georgia agreed to construct a new building for the theater at 25 Gorgasali Street. The groundbreaking ceremony for this new facility took place on October 27, 2023. During the design phase, it was discovered that the initially allocated land was insufficient for the construction, prompting the leadership of both countries to decide on expanding the construction site.

The construction of the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center will be situated in the expanded area. The center will occupy a substantial area of 5,380 square meters and will include a concert hall along with various venues for cultural events.
