Baku: A high-level dialogue on “Scaling Investment for a Fair Transition” was held within the framework of the COP29 presidency and in cooperation with the Asian Development Bank.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the event was attended by Dutch Deputy Finance Minister Casper Wesseling and UNFCCC Executive Secretary Simon Stiell, with US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen joining via video conference. The discussions centered around addressing key challenges in allocating public finance and mobilizing private finance to meet climate goals.

The dialogue further explored successful coordination mechanisms for mobilizing finance for Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). Discussions also focused on the specific role of the ministry of finance in coordination, and how partner institutions, financing partners, and the private sector can effectively support countries in mobilizing finance for NDCs.
