Baku: "We celebrate another anniversary of the Azerbaijani national press today. The development path of our press, founded on July 22, 1875, by the great enlightener Hasan bey Zardabi, is a vivid example of true patriotism, loyalty to the ideas of statehood, and tireless struggle for national progress," Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev said in a post on X, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, beginning in the mid-1990s, the media policy implemented under the leadership of National Leader Heydar Aliyev created a solid foundation for ensuring freedom of speech and information, pluralism of opinion, and the formation and development of a strong and professional media in the country. The continuation of the policy initiated by the Great Leader, along with consistently implemented reforms in this field, ensured the development of Azerbaijani media in line with modern challenges and expanded its influence in the global information space.

Azerbaijan stands out for its security and development dynamics, further expanding its independent and principled policy and partnership relations with centers of power. The media has adapted its activities to current realities, taking into account modern trends in the global information space, and distinguishing itself through its role in implementing advanced technologies, digitalization, artificial intelligence, and addressing other key issues shaping future development.
Hajiyev expressed confidence that Azerbaijani media will strengthen its positions in the global information space and remain committed to its principles, reinforcing patriotism, national solidarity, and the protection of national interests.
