Baku: Strengthening child protection in this increasingly complex digital age holds particular importance. At ICESCO, children, adolescents, and youth have always been at the heart of our mission. We do believe that sustainable development, a peaceful society, and a prosperous future are only possible when the rights, dignity, and well-being of children are fully safeguarded, said Amira El Fadil, Advisor to the ICESCO Director-General for External Relations, during the conference on "Protection of the Children in the Digital Environment: Modern Tools and International Cooperation Conference."

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Amira El Fadil emphasized that digital transformation has fundamentally changed the nature of childhood. Research shows that children make up nearly one-third of global internet users. Unfortunately, in many countries, children are exposed to harmful content, online exploitation, and digital violence. El Fadil noted that the rapid development of social media algorithms and AI technologies further deepens these risks.

The conference highlighted that a collaborative approach involving modern tools and international cooperation is essential to address these challenges effectively. By prioritizing the protection of children in the digital realm, societies can work toward ensuring a safe and promising environment for future generations.
