Baku:ICESCO has expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for his ongoing support in fostering cooperation and developing partnerships within Azerbaijan. This acknowledgment was made by Salim bin Mohammed AlMalik, Secretary-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), during a special joint session at the 3rd High-Level Meeting of International Organizations and the 6th Meeting of Ministers, part of the Baku Process held in Baku.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, AlMalik also extended his appreciation to Azerbaijan's Ministry of Culture for organizing the meeting, which brought together ministers and international organizations. This event provided a platform to address shared concerns and make practical decisions.
AlMalik emphasized that the success of these meetings would be measured by the tangible changes they bring to people's lives. He highlighted the diminished trust in multilateral cooperation and stressed the importance of bridging the gap between commitments and their implementation. He called for consistent application of principles and fulfilling promises to offer reliable support and opportunities for cooperation. AlMalik pointed out that stronger coordination is crucial for achieving these goals.
He further noted that expenditure on peacebuilding could constitute approximately half a percent of global net wealth, which, while based on certain assumptions, underscores the potential economic and social benefits of investing in conflict prevention.
