Baku: “With the approval of the relevant state bodies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the ICMP’s Assessment Mission visited Azerbaijan from June 5 to 16, 2023,” the Secretary of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Missing, and Hostages, Gazanfar Ahmadov said during the presentation of the “Assessment Report: Accounting for Missing Persons in the Republic of Azerbaijan” by the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP), organized by the State Commission for Prisoners of War, Hostages, and Missing Persons, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Secretary of the State Commission noted that during the visit, the Director of Policy and Cooperation, Andreas Kleiser, and the Program Manager of the organization, Carmen Osorno Solis, were received at the State Commission and several relevant state bodies. “During the visit, the ICMP carried out an Assessment Mission in our country to clarify the fate of our citizens who went missing as a result of Armenia’s military aggression against Azerbaijan,” Ahmadov stated.
The visit resulted in a report prepared by the ICMP, which was subsequently sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan. Relevant state bodies have prepared feedback and proposals regarding the report and submitted them to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
