Accra:The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has not visited Azerbaijani Army serviceman Nasimi Musayev, who is currently detained in Armenia.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, Zara Amatuni, head of communication programs at the ICRC Delegation in Armenia, stated that while the ICRC is tasked with addressing such issues, a visit has not yet occurred. She mentioned that the organization is in discussions with Armenian authorities about the situation.
Reports from the Press Service of the Prosecutor General's Office indicate that Nasimi Musayev, who was serving in a military unit near Azerbaijan's Lachin district, went missing. On September 26, 2026, authorities initiated a search after Musayev was absent from his service location, prompting investigations by the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The Military Prosecutor's Office conducted an inquiry into the incident, revealing suspicions that Musayev left his unit without authorization. Subsequently, an Armenian court ordered his arrest.
