Ankara: The increase in global oil prices amid the conflict in the Middle East will put pressure on inflation and the overall economic indicators in Trkiye, Trkiye's Dnya newspaper reports, citing International Energy Agency (IEA) Executive Director Fatih Birol. However, he believes that Trkiye's resilience in the current situation is higher compared to other regions.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, 'Trkiye will not be affected as severely as Asian and European countries,' Fatih Birol emphasized. He also noted that alternative routes such as the Basra-Ceyhan pipeline, which was also discussed during his meeting with Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Simsek, are of critical importance for Trkiye's energy supply security.
