Baku: The III CIS Games hosted by Azerbaijan have concluded: The III CIS Games recently concluded in Azerbaijan, Apasport.az reports. Azerbaijani athletes showcased remarkable performances, particularly in the artistic gymnastics events held in Sheki, where they secured a total of six medals on the final day of the competition.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Azerbaijan finished the Games with an impressive tally of 184 medals, comprising 33 gold, 56 silver, and 95 bronze. This achievement placed Azerbaijan in second position overall in the tournament, with Russia taking the top spot. The outcome marks Azerbaijan’s best-ever performance in the history of the CIS Games, which have been held since 2021.

The 3rd CIS Games became a significant milestone for Azerbaijani athletes, who improved on their previous results in the inaugural and second editions. At the first CIS Games, Azerbaijan secured 60 medals, including 16 gold, 16 silver, and 28 bronze. In the second edition, they garnered 62 medals, with 10 gold, 17 silver, and 35 bronze. This year’s accomplishment underscores the progress and growing prowess of Azerbaijani athletes on a regional stage.
