Turkmenbashi:President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, the leaders fondly recalled previous visits between the two countries, noting their significance in strengthening bilateral relations. They highlighted the five high-level visits since last year as evidence of the intense political dialogue and robust engagement between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.
During their meeting, both presidents praised the dynamic development of friendly relations between their countries and discussed expanding cooperation in various sectors, including political, economic, transport, transit, logistics, cultural, and humanitarian fields. They also addressed issues concerning the Caspian Sea and cooperation within international organizations.
The leaders emphasized the importance of the 8th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Central Asia for enhancing regional cooperation and addressing mutual interests. President Aliyev expressed appreciation for the excellent organization of the event.
Recalling Azerbaijan's accession to the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia last November, President Aliyev conveyed gratitude for the unanimous support of this initiative, originally proposed by Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The Presidents also explored prospects for further bilateral cooperation and other mutual concerns.
