Turkmenbashi:President Ilham Aliyev has emphasized the necessity of establishing a permanent mechanism for cooperation and monitoring to implement decisions regarding the Caspian Sea.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Aliyev recalled his 2022 proposal at the Sixth Caspian Summit in Ashgabat for creating expert groups to investigate the declining sea levels and develop preventive measures. He noted the ongoing relevance of this initiative.

Aliyev stressed the importance of moving beyond discussions to establish a structured approach. He underscored the need to identify all factors contributing to the sea's decline and to secure a scientific assessment of the situation's potential future developments.
