Turkmenbashi:Preserving the Caspian's unique ecosystem is a common task for all littoral states, President Ilham Aliyev stated while addressing the Caspian Environmental Summit.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Aliyev emphasized that a comprehensive legal and regulatory framework has been developed by the Caspian littoral states over the years. He mentioned that Azerbaijan is a party to nearly all international legal documents signed by the five littoral countries.

He also pointed out the historical importance of the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea, signed in 2018, which he described as the outcome of long-term collaborative efforts by the littoral states.
