Baku: Increasing trade turnover among Turkic states is one of the top priorities, Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz stated during a recent press briefing. Economy was a major focus during discussions held in Azerbaijan, highlighting the significance of progress made by Turkic states in recent years.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Yilmaz emphasized the importance of simplifying customs procedures and enhancing trade relations to boost trade turnover between the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). He pointed out that the OTS member states have achieved economic growth rates of nearly 6%, which is significantly higher than the global average of around 3%. This growth underscores the effectiveness of their cooperation.
Yilmaz further noted that the primary objective of these initiatives is to improve the welfare of the OTS member countries and their citizens. The focus on economic collaboration aims to sustain and enhance the progress witnessed in recent years among the Turkic states.
