Baku: Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs recently met with an Indian delegation led by Sibi George, Secretary (West) at India's Ministry of External Affairs. The discussions centered on the current state and future prospects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and India, highlighting cooperation in economic and trade relations, energy, tourism, and education.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the officials underscored their positions on existing issues, emphasizing the significance of dialogue in addressing these concerns. The meeting also included exchanges on regional and international security issues, particularly the current tensions in the Middle East, stressing the need for stability and security in the region.

During the talks, Sibi George expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijan for their role in facilitating the evacuation of Indian nationals from Iran. This gesture was seen as a testament to the strong diplomatic ties between the two nations. The meeting also covered other topics of mutual interest, reflecting the broad scope of collaboration between Azerbaijan and India.

Following this, the Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan and India conducted political consultations. These were led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Elnur Mammadov, along with Sibi George from India's Ministry of External Affairs, further solidifying the commitment to enhance bilateral relations.
