Industrial Production in Azerbaijan Reaches AZN 31.2 Billion Amid Sectoral Shifts

Baku: Industrial enterprises and individual entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan produced industrial products valued at 31.2 billion manat in the first half of 2025, marking a 1.9 percent decrease compared to the same period last year.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this decline is primarily attributed to reductions in the oil and gas sector.

Production in the oil and gas sector saw a decrease of 3.1 percent. In contrast, the non-oil and gas sector witnessed a growth of 6.3 percent. The mining sector continued to dominate industrial production, accounting for 61.8 percent of total output, while the processing sector contributed 31.6 percent. Additionally, the electricity, gas, and steam production, distribution, and supply sector comprised 5.6 percent, and the water supply, waste treatment, and processing sector made up 1 percent.

The report further highlights that within the mining sector, commodity oil production dropped by 5.3 percent, whereas commodity gas production increased slightly by 1.1 percent. These shifts reflect the ongoing changes in Azerbaijan’s industrial landscape as the country navigates challenges within its key sectors.
