Baku: An international conference titled "Teaching Turkic Languages, Literatures and Histories in the Context of Modern Challenges" was held as part of "Turkic World Week," commemorating the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the conference featured prominent figures such as Baku State University Rector Elchin Babayev, Deputy Minister of Culture Saadat Yusifova, and President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev, among others. Rector Elchin Babayev emphasized that the scientific and cultural programs during the week aim to preserve the history, culture, and traditions of the Turkic peoples, as well as to explore new directions for future cooperation. He noted that the discussions addressed not only the scientific problems of the era but also the fundamental ideas shaping the future development concept of the Turkic peoples.
Deputy Minister of Culture Saadat Yusifova highlighted that the Turkic world is at a new developmental stage, focusing on political relations, economic cooperation, education, cultural exchanges, and the preservation and enrichment of culture. She underscored the significance of these aspects in their meetings.
President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev remarked that the Congress marked a pivotal moment in the scientific and cultural development of Turkic peoples, significantly contributing to the spread of education and literacy, and playing a crucial role in the cultural history of the 20th century.
President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Aktoty Raimkulova expressed that Turkic languages embody a rich cultural heritage, historical memory, and shared values. She stressed the importance of preserving these languages and expanding their teaching and everyday use.
Lastly, Rector of the Kazakh National University, Professor Zhanseit Tuimebayev, reflected on the realization of the Turkic Unity, a concept once envisioned during the Soviet era, which has now become a reality.
