International Conference in Trkiye to Spotlight Central Asian Capital Markets


Istanbul: The Bonds, Loans and ESG Capital Markets CEE, CIS and Trkiye 2024 conference, hosted by Global Banking and Markets, is set to occur in Istanbul on November 19-20, focusing on the financial opportunities in Central Asia.

According to Trend News Agency, the conference will serve as the principal venue for international financial institutions from Central and Eastern Europe, CIS, and Trkiye, aiming to explore the dynamic financial landscape of Central Asia. It is expected to attract over 600 leading participants including governments, corporations, investors, banks, law firms, regulators, and service providers, making it the largest event of its kind in the region.

The conference will feature more than 70 expert speakers from prestigious institutions such as the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Deutsche Bank, ING, S and P Global, Fitch Ratings, and Moody’s. Discussions will cover a wide range of topics including sovereign issuance outlook, financial strategies across the region, loan market p
erspectives for 2025, and the application of international and regional frameworks and taxonomies.

A highlight of the event is the panel discussion on Uzbekistan, titled “How and why has Uzbekistan become the focal point of the CIS’s capital markets?” This session will focus on the significant economic reforms and market liberalization in Uzbekistan, which have attracted substantial foreign investments and boosted confidence in its capital markets.

Speakers for the Uzbekistan panel include Odilbek Isakov, former Deputy Minister of Finance of Uzbekistan and CEO and Co-founder of Infrasia Capital LLC, and Kamoliddin Umurzakov, Chief Financial Officer of UzAuto Motors. They will share insights into the recent developments and future prospects of Uzbekistan’s financial sector.
