Astana: Kazakhstan has set an ambitious target to attract an additional $150 billion in foreign investments by 2029, as announced by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the Astana Think Tank Forum. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to bolster the country’s economic growth through ongoing reforms and enhanced investment conditions.
According to Trend News Agency, President Tokayev highlighted Kazakhstan’s successful track record in attracting foreign direct investments, with $400 billion secured to date. During his keynote address, he emphasized the critical role of these investments in developing a robust economic framework and stated the country’s commitment to improving the investment climate further. “Kazakhstan has made substantial strides in the economic arena. We’ve successfully attracted $400 billion in foreign direct investment,” he noted.
President Tokayev also announced the establishment of an Investment Council, endowed with broad authority to oversee and streamline strategic investmen
t projects. He remarked on the importance of this council in making Kazakhstan’s investment landscape more efficient and transparent, ensuring comprehensive state support for investors and timely decision-making processes.
