Baku: Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova met with Tulia Ackson, President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), who visited Azerbaijan to attend the 13th Global Baku Forum, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the sides discussed the importance of the debates held within the forum. Sahiba Gafarova highlighted Azerbaijan's efforts to promote peace and dialogue amid the current tense regional and international situation, emphasizing that the Global Baku Forum serves as an important platform for discussing many issues of concern to the international community.

IPU President Tulia Ackson underscored the significance of the Global Baku Forum as an international platform. She also hailed the important role and initiatives of President Ilham Aliyev in the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, describing it as a model for resolving disputes between states.

The meeting also reviewed issues related to international cooperation. The IPU President praised the active representation of the Azerbaijani Parliament within the Inter-Parliamentary Union, as well as the current level of cooperation between the organization and the Azerbaijani Parliament.

The sides also exchanged views on cooperation between the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network (NAM PN) and the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
